A Thursday evening on the square means folk music. On 2 July at 20:00 Svoboda Square hosts a horoteka, an open-air evening of Bulgarian chain dances.
What a horoteka is
The music is folk, the dance floor is the whole square, and there is one rule: you join the horo even if you do not know the steps. The person next to you will lead, and the rhythm does the rest. The evening suits all ages and is open to anyone passing through the square.
When again
The horotekas continue all month: 9, 16 and 23 July, always from 20:00 on Svoboda Square.
