How to get here
By air
The nearest airport is Varna, about an hour by car, with Burgas roughly the same from the south. Both run shuttle-taxi services to Obzor, and some hotels lay on their own transfers in summer. From Varna you can also go by public transport: bus 409 into the centre, then a coach to Obzor from the central bus station.
By bus
Obzor's central bus station sits right opposite the post office, five minutes from the beach. Direct routes come in from Sofia (around six hours with Etap-Group or Union Ivkoni), Plovdiv, Varna (1h20) and Burgas (1h15). You can buy tickets online or at the station on the day.
By car
Sofia is about 440 km away: first the Hemus motorway (A2), then the coastal E87. The A2 still has unfinished stretches, so plan for five to six hours rather than four. From Varna it is much shorter, but the E87 clogs up in July and August, and locals avoid the afternoon peak.
Parking
Parking in Obzor is easy to find. Most hotels and guesthouses have their own, and street parking is allowed almost everywhere apart from a few restricted zones near the beach and the main square.
From Romania
For anyone coming from the north, the closest crossing is at Durankulak. From there it is about two and a half hours to Obzor.
