Coastal history
The WWII Coastal Bunkers
Raw military remains on the sand, ideal for a short walk and dramatic coastal photography.
Highlights
- Free, open-air access with no tickets or opening hours.
- A distinctive backdrop for sunrise or sunset photos.
- Easy to reach on foot along the beach or promenade from the centre.
Why go
The bunkers near Obzor are a different kind of seaside stop. They bring a gritty piece of 20th-century history into the beach landscape, where concrete, sand and open water create a striking contrast.
What to expect
The structures are abandoned and open-air, so visitors can look around at their own pace. They are especially atmospheric at sunrise or sunset, when low light sharpens their shape against the coast.
Good to know
This is not a staffed museum site. Be careful around old concrete and shifting sand, avoid climbing risky sections and leave the area as you found it.
